Irsa Shafiq working with Peace and Education Foundation (PEF) as Project Manager since 2020. Previously she is been working in PEF as research, communication and development officer since 2014. Ms. Irsa holds the experience of managing projects on democracy and youth engagement. She holds M.Phil degree in International Relations and has also authored a book titled Political Leadership, Military Intervention and Democratization in Turkey and Pakistan (Published by Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) in 2018).
As a project manager she has worked on several research projects as a lead researcher. Ms. Irsa has also been the lead researcher in published books on democracy and youth engagement including Role of Youth in strengthening Democracy and Democratic Values in Pakistan (2021) and Democracy and Pakistani Youth (2023).
She has authored research reports on Pakistan public schools’ textbook curriculum, religious media narratives and several other research projects on causes, trends, and containment strategies of radicalization in Pakistani society. She has experience of project management, project planning and implementing several projects on youth engagement for democracy and democratic values in Pakistan to engage youth from diverse faith groups.
As a lead researcher Ms. Irsa is also actively involved in conceptualizing and development of projects related to religious engagement and Pakistani madrasah enhancement. She oversee the entire project activities and outcomes at every level including implementation of planned activities, surveys, pictures, news clipping, participant information, information management and ensuring quality of the project.
