Ghulam Murtaza
Ghulam Murtaza is Executive Director of the Peace and Education Foundation (PEF). He is a development practitioner and social innovator with 13+ years of experience in peacebuilding, gender inclusion, climate action, and educational enhancement in Pakistan. Grounded in both religious and contemporary education, he has built trusted partnerships with faith leaders, policymakers, women, youth, and marginalized communities—advancing dialogue through global best practices, strengthening social cohesion, and addressing systemic barriers linked to gender, religion, and ethnicity.
At PEF, he has led multi-layered programs reaching 18,000+ stakeholders and secured strategic partnerships and funding from USAID, UNODC, British Council, the European Union, US Embassy (RELO), and Norwegian Church Aid. He is a recognized expert in peacebuilding and civic engagement, authored and co-authored seven publications, 20+ training curricula, and completed 10+ national and international fellowships in leadership and conflict transformation, bridging grassroots realities with policy and development priorities.
